My Story
Pink Gurl Project, Inc.: A Testament of Strength and Hope
A 501(c)3 Organization Founded in April 2021 by Bridget Tutt-McCray, Pink Gurl Project, Inc. (Experience) emerged from a deeply personal journey marked by resilience and faith. In October 2020, Bridget, a thriving entrepreneur, wife, mother, grandmother, business coach, inventor, and Licensed Pastor, faced an unexpected and life-altering challenge: a diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) Stage III Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

At the age of 53, I discovered a painful lump in my left breast during a self-exam. After undergoing a mammogram, breast ultrasound, and biopsy, I received the heart-wrenching news that changed my life forever. Despite the overwhelming fear that accompanied such a diagnosis, I NEVER wavered in my faith. “I never questioned God,” I recall. Instead, I sought divine guidance to discover my purpose within this Assignment.

My mission became clear: to raise breast cancer awareness and to inspire women around the world who face similar battles. I recognized the need to serve as a beacon of hope, letting others know that “Breast cancer is not always a death sentence” and that “God is still a healer.” This calling led to the creation of Pink Gurl Project, Inc., a heartfelt initiative that centers on providing love, support, and encouragement to those battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.

The PINK GURL EXPERIENCE (is what the Lord gave me) is at the heart of Pink Gurl Project, Inc., filled with Prayer Tools,
Inspiration, Encouragement, Hope, and Bridget's powerful testimony. Each experience symbolizes a memorable experience meant to uplift those facing breast cancer, reminding them that they are beautiful, strong, and hopeful. Bridget encourages others to cultivate faith the size of a mustard seed, asserting that healing is within reach.

Throughout her journey, Bridget underwent 16 rounds of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy, with radiation treatment following. She truly believes that GOD handpicked her dream team (Oncologist Dr. Steph Cohen (RWJ), Breast Surgeon Manpreet K. Kohli (RWJ), her radiologist, and all the Nurses and specialists to assist in her healing process! Yet, she stands today as a testament to survival, proclaiming, “I believe GOD! Prayer has been my key and will continue to be!” Her story is one of personal triumph and a call to action for others: “Fight, Gurl, Fight!”
